Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Meentu, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the Meentu mobile application on Android and iOS.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Meentu, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These terms apply to all users of the Meentu mobile application available on Android and iOS.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Meentu. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you are using the app on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
3. Account registration
You may sign in with a Google account or a mobile number verified by one-time password (OTP) via Firebase Phone Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You agree to provide accurate profile information (name, mobile number) as required to access full app features.
You must notify us immediately at support@meentu.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Use of the service
- Meentu is a personal finance management tool. You may use it to record expenses and income, split bills, manage recurring payments, and share a wallet with trusted people.
- You must not use the app to enter false, fraudulent, or misleading financial information.
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app or its backend services.
- You must not use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Indian or international law.
5. Subscription plans & where your data is stored
Meentu offers a free plan (Pocket) and paid plans (Pair, Circle).
Free (Pocket) plan — your data stays on your device. All of your expenses, income, categories, splits and recurring entries are stored ONLY in local storage on your phone. They are NOT uploaded to, backed up by, or accessible from our cloud servers. If you uninstall the app, switch phones, or clear the app's data, your free-plan data cannot be recovered by us.
Paid plans (Pair, Circle) — your data is additionally synced to secure cloud storage (Google Firebase). This is what enables automatic backup, access across devices, shared wallets, and group expense tracking with other members. Cloud sync is active only while you hold an active paid subscription.
If a paid subscription ends or lapses, cloud sync stops. The app keeps working with the data already on your device; the retention and deletion of any existing cloud copy are governed by our Privacy Policy.
Paid plan differences: Pair allows one shared group; Circle allows a shared wallet with up to 5 members. Exact features and limits are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
Subscription prices and billing cycles are shown in the app at the time of purchase. Payments are processed through the relevant platform store (Google Play / Apple App Store) and managed via our subscription provider, RevenueCat. Meentu never receives or stores your card details.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You manage or cancel subscriptions through your store account (Google Play / Apple App Store).
We reserve the right to change plan pricing with advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
6. Shared wallets and group features
- Circle plan users may create a shared wallet and invite up to 5 members. By joining a shared wallet you consent to sharing your expense entries with other members of that group.
- You may also split a bill with people who are not yet Meentu users by sending them an invite link. When you do this you are responsible for having their permission to enter their name and mobile number.
- The group owner (admin) is responsible for managing member access and permissions. Meentu is not liable for any disputes arising between group members.
- Removing a member from a group revokes their access to shared data. Their local data is not deleted from their own device.
7. SMS and notification access (Android)
The SMS import feature, if you enable it, reads bank transaction notifications to suggest expense entries. This processing happens on your device — we do not transmit the content of your SMS messages to our servers.
You may disable this feature at any time from Settings.
8. Voice entry
The voice entry feature uses your device's microphone to capture spoken expense descriptions. Speech recognition is performed on-device or via the operating system's speech service. No audio recordings are stored or transmitted by Meentu.
9. User content
You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into Meentu. By using cloud sync you grant Meentu a limited licence to store and process your data as necessary to provide the service.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Meentu does not verify or validate your financial records.
10. Data and privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Meentu you agree to our Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software in the Meentu app are the property of Meentu and its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
